‘Who is she that comes forth as the morning rising, fair as the moon, bright as the sun, terrible as an army set in battle array?

THE LEGION OF MARY

What Is It ?
The Legion of Mary is a worldwide organization of lay Catholics whose members offer their services voluntarily in aiding the church by performing spiritual works. The object of the Legion of Mary is the glory of God through the holiness of its members, developed by prayer and active co-operation with Mary's and the Church's work.
What Does It Do ?
The members participate in the life of the parish through visitation of families, the sick both in homes and in the hospital, door-to-door evangelization, and in every apostolic and missionary undertaking sponsored by the parish.
Who Can Belong ?
Persons who wish to join the Legion must apply for membership in a Praesidium.
There are two types of membership:

A) Active Members- This is open to all practicing catholics (men and women) ages 18 years old and above. This kind of membership requires each Legionary to attend a weekly meeting as well as to carry out apostolic work in the spirit of faith and in union with Mary.
Membership is not only limited to adults, but also for the young. Children aged from 7 to 17 years are welcome. They are called junior legionaries. They are also required to attend a weekly meeting and to render apostolic works under the supervision of the senior legionaries.

B) Auxiliary Membership - This membership is open to Priests, religious and lay   people who wish to associate themselves with the Legion by undertaking a service of prayer in its name.

The Legionaries are under the guidance of a Spiritual Director assigned by the Pastor

.
