The Oratory Of St. Philip Neri

Toronto Ontario Canada

This page is devoted to the upcoming pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela in May 2009 and is intended to keep the registered pilgrims informed. Right now, we have all the people that we can handle, but if you are interested in getting on a waiting list, please contact us.  If you are interested in helping this venture financially, click here.

There is a blog associated with this pilgrimage. It will be used primarily to post information once we are in Spain, such as our emergency cell phone number, which we will buy at the airport in Madrid.  http://oratory-santiago-2009.blogspot.com/

We had an organizational meeting on Saturday, January 10.  The information sheet that was passed out (with a few modifications) is found here.
You will need a valid passport to get into Spain.  If you have a passport, check it now to make sure that it will not expire any time soon. It should be valid until at least November 2009 -- six months after the pilgrimage. To get a new passport, go to this web site:  http://www.ppt.gc.ca/index.aspx?lang=eng.  (If you fill out the online application, you will save yourself time when visiting the passport office.)
A flyer containing the basic information about our pilgrimage is now available online.  This can be used when soliciting potential donors for our venture.

Financial Support for the Pilgrimage

The adult supervisors will be paying their full costs, but we are hoping to be able to partially subsidize the youth who will be walking. You can help this pilgrimage by donating to the Oratory and specifying that you would like to support the pilgrimage.  Click here to find out how to donate.
