The Oratory is a Registered Charity in Canada. Donations to the Oratory are acknowledged with a Canadian income tax-receipt. There are two ways to make a donation.
1. Send a cheque to The Oratory of Saint Philip Neri, 1372 King Street West, Toronto, ON, M6K 1H3.
You will get a tax-receipt from us, acknowledging your donation within a few weeks.
2. You can make an on-line donation through CanadaHelps.org.
You will get a tax-receipt from CanadaHelps.org for the full amount of your donation. The CanadaHelps Web site is a public service which enables Canadian charities to receive money through credit and debit card donations without having to set up their own accounts with the various banks. CanadaHelps is a charity itself and does not aim to make a profit. If you pay using a debit transaction, it passes on 100% of your donation to us. If you use your credit card, CanadaHelps takes a 3% cut. Part of this 3% is used to pay the credit card companies (who are definitely not charities and demand their profit) and part is used to pay for the necessary administration arising from credit card transaction. It is obviously better to make your donations using a debit transaction, but you will need to activate this feature of online banking with your financial institution first. All it (usually) takes is a visit to your financial institution’s online web site. CanadaHelps is a secure site using an https server.
Although the tax-receipt will in this case come from CanadaHelps, you will also get a card from us, thanking you for your generosity.
